Jacob Morrison’s Side A on Youtube
DistroKid has wasted no time at all in submitting my music to Youtube, various streaming sites, and music stores. For some reason hearing my music and seeing my album cover on Youtube really drives home the feeling of satisfaction. As I write this I’m on vacation in Littleton, Colorado. A very needed rest from the daily 9 to 5 grind.
If you don’t have access to Spotify, Apple Music, or Itunes, I’ve added a link to my whole first E.P. below. Please give it a listen, I keep checking it out myself. So far I’ve gotten quite good reviews on the album’s sound and style. More than anything this makes me want to get back to work and create more for everyone. More is most definitely on the way.
Side A on Youtube
Now as I sit back and look at these last few years’ work, my only regret is that I didn’t release it sooner. I had a lot of apprehension inside, out of fear of how I would be received. I tried my hardest to get the “best” musicians, and to write the “best” songs possible. This may have been the problem, a recently someone said to me, “Great is the enemy of good, Perfect is the enemy of progress”. The harder you try to make it perfect, the more you stagnate at the thought of such insurmountable tasks.
From now on I do it for the love. Not for perfection, not for competition, not for adoration and praise. I want to write and record music because it is who I am. Sometimes we spend so much time striving to be some idea of what we’re supposed to be, that we lose sight of who we really are. Confusing the Idea of one’s self with the actual still, silent, watching being beneath all of the thoughts and opinions.
Huge thanks if you happen to be one of my readers. Please let me know what you might like me to write about in the future. I’m more than just a musician and love to discuss and explore ideas with like-hearted, open-minded individuals.
Have a great day
